New middle school teacher, first impressions: Ms. LaMarca

Where are you coming from?
Ms. Erin LaMarca was previously a substitute in the Lower School at ASL as a learning specialist but before that, she lived in Massachusetts for eight years.

What subject do you teach/ what position do you hold?
Ms. LaMarca is the seventh-grade learning specialist.

What were/ have been your first impressions of ASL?
Ms. LaMarca was delighted to discover that the students were “outgoing and engaging” and that ASL had “many great resources” that aid students in their learning.

What is your favorite part of ASL?
“Definitely the students!” Ms. LaMarca absolutely loves teaching SLD because she enjoys working with students in a smaller setting, which supplies students with the tools to thrive in the classroom. She also very much enjoys advisory time, as it is a means to get to know her students in a different way.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Ms. LaMarca finds pleasure in reading and spending time with her family. She also very much enjoys discovering new restaurants.

What is an interesting fact about you?
Ms. LaMarca helped pass a safe driving law in Massachusetts.
