The girls eighth grade volleyball team strives to win. At practice they work hard, and during games they are full of focus.

The team has had a lot of fun together, on and off of the court. “My most memorable moment in volleyball would have to be when we were warming up before a game, and half of the team started rallying and it went on till we reached 60 points,” said team member Amelia Learner. “We were all laughing and having fun.”

The team was able to improve very much throughout the season. Team member Sophia Christodoulou said, “We improved throughout the season by learning to communicate better with each other and practicing new skills that we could demonstrate in games.” Some of these new skills included calling for the ball, achieving well executed three hits, and shaking off any mistakes made in the game.

There have been two games that have been favored by the team because they really showed how well they can all work as a team and how they always tried their best. Those two games were both home games against TASIS and Marymount. The game against TASIS was 3-0 on the October 11. The game against Marymount was 2-1 on the October 20.

So far, this season has really brought the eighth grade girls team closer together. The team is full of spirit and they make sure to show that in games. They hope they can stay the same for LSSAs.
