The girls tennis team went undefeated this year and played with motivation and determination. Although the team is made up of seventh and eighth graders combined, the girls worked well as a team.

The most memorable highlight of the season was a recent match against Hillingdon on May 5 at Canons Park. The weather was windy, grey and freezing that day. Most girls could barely keep a good grip on their racket. It was a tough day to play a match, but all of the girls were brave and tried their best. Despite the weather, the team put their biggest effort into their matches and won all of them. “We will always look back on that match because it showed us we can play our best, even in extreme weather conditions,” said eighth-grader Chloe Chace.

The team’s toughest game was against Cobham on April 21. The team was missing many girls on that day due to trips and other circumstances. It was hard for all the players to take breaks because they would have to play constant matches. “The biggest challenge was making sure that we were all confident and able to dominate a point,” said Chace.

In the end, the team was all tired and worn out, yet they stepped up to the challenge, faced it and overall won the match. “I think the biggest strength of the team was the communication we had during the doubles and our effort that we put into hit the ball for singles as well,” said seventh-grader Amelia Learner.

According to the team, their communication and improvement were their biggest strengths. Eighth-grader Maya Ajami agreed and said, “The biggest strength of the team is that we all improved in different ways over the season and that helped us become stronger as a whole.”

Eighth-grader Anna Heinrich said, “The biggest strength for us as a team was working together and communicating during doubles.”

This season brought the team closer together and made them stronger. This season will be forever remembered by all of the players.
