The middle school boys baseball team is a combined seventh and eighth grade team. They competed in four games this season and have been very sucessful. Throughout the international school community, baseball is a very popular sport, so the competition is tough.

The team started their season against ACS Egham on April 14. Multiple students on the team were gone due to an eighth grade trip to Valencia, so the team really had to work together. The end result of the game was an 11-1 win to ASL.

The next game they played was probably the toughest as they tied the game 4-4 against ACS Cobham on April 21. The players lost sight of winning once tied and started to panic. Although they tied the game it was a major turning point in the season as it led to a lot of determination to win the next game. Then they went on to beat Egham 10-2 on May 5.

The team had a lot of moments in the season where they were able to come together as team. Seventh grader Malakai Spencer stated that “the season has been great and even though we didn’t win all of our games, we bonded as a team.” Not only have they worked together as a team but each of them had improved their individual skill.

Players need to be able to trust that their team mates will be at the appropriate bases at the appropriate times. A well bonded team is essential for this, and that’s what this team was able to achieve.

Overall, the boys are proud of their performances and how they have immensely increased their skills. The season has brought the players closer together and led to a very memorable season.
