Twenty One Pilots – meaningful lyrics, great sound

With hits like “Heathens” and “Ride” reaching spots number 4 and 7 on the Billboard Hot 100s and “Stressed Out” getting over 689 million views on You Tube, Twenty One Pilots have quickly become a name that many students recognize.

People: The band consists of lead singer Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun. Joseph also plays the piano, the ukulele, and many other instruments.

Style: Twenty One Pilots are hard to place in any certain genre – they have songs ranging from rap to rock, and are most commonly listed as alternative.

Top five: At the moment, these are my favorite Twenty One Pilots songs.
1 – Fall Away (Twenty One Pilots)

2 – Migraine (Vessel)

3 – Ode To Sleep (Vessel)

4 – Air Catcher (Twenty One Pilots)

5 – Fairly Local (Blurryface)

Meaning: TØP fans spend a lot of time debating the meaning of the songs the duo write. The most common themes among the lyrics are depression and anxiety, as well as fighting them. Joseph himself once fought against depression, and this is reflected in many of his songs.
Twenty One Pilots are a very unique band who offer a fresh look on music and sound. When you get the chance, look them up and listen to a few of their songs – you certainly won’t regret it.
